Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to be a part of newly established company. you will be reporting to Lead Software Developer. You will be eligible to live and work in UK. The job is based in London.

Main Purpose of job:

The Candidate will be a founding member of the software development team and will play a key role in the initial build out of web applications.

The Candidate will be responsible for code level development, testing, documentation and ongoing maintenance.

The role will entail solution design, project scoping and planning, and architecture development for our client new web site.

Candidate will be expected to deliver working, high quality, code level programming in a timely and professional manner, and to work cooperatively with the other technical and business personnel.

The candidate will be expected to stay up-to-date on current developments in Web, SEO and Internet oriented software, software development technology and development methodologies, and should be very familiar with open source development and open source tools and resources available on the Internet.

The candidate will have skills adequate to be comfortable working to tight deadlines in a technically challenging, high profile, revenue-oriented environment.

Authority and Reporting:

* Primary internal code level development resource
* Reporting to the Managing Director or Software Team Leader/Architect
*The Candidate is responsible for effectively commenting and documenting and software
* Candidate is involved in developing so it can be properly internalised within our client as accessible Intellectual Property
* Participation in the hiring of future in-house software developers as required by Managing Director and/or Team Leader
* Participate in the selection of technologies and architectures for company web and enterprise applications
* Day-to-day development and training/mentoring less experience/skilled staff in software development technologies, software architecture, development methodologies and open source tools and code as required

Key Accountabilities:

1. Code level programming and documentation
2. Accurate and reliable project scoping, planning and technical architecture development
3. Unit testing, documentation and requirements adherence
4. Producing speed, stability, scalability, flexibility and efficiency testing of software
5. Contributing to future proofing of code and database design
6. Planning and developing new segments of the websites and suggesting ideas for new technology-based service offerings
7. Opportunity to advance to leadership role

Experience and Qualifications:

Experience

Required:

* 2+ years with PHP and at least one other leading web development language
* 3+ years with HTML and CSS page construction
* Experience with Cake and similar frameworks
* Experience with Ajax and other web 2.0 software technologies
* At least one year experience with data abstraction solutions
* 1+ years SQL
* Experience of high transaction Web Software development and site management.
* Experience with XML
* Experience with content management systems
* Experience with Agile development methodologies like XP or Scrum

Useful:

* E-commerce Experience
* Rich Internet Application development (Flex, GWT, OpenLazslo or equivalent).
* Mobile applications experience

Qualifications

* Technical degree
* Strong familiarity with web technologies
* Must be able to work effectively in team oriented environment and follow instructions
* Must have excellent spoken and written English language skills
* Good project organization, planning and execution skills
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines
* An understanding of leading software development methodologies
* Familiarity with open source software development

* Friendly team-player
* Someone who can multi-task, communicate well (esp with non-techies) & work under tight deadlines
* Must be happy to roll sleeves up and help with everything
* Above all, must be passionate about web development
