One of our major clients is currently working on a number programmes in the Tactical C4I and Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) domain space, including Bowman Combat Infrastructure and Platforms (BCIP), C4I Export and FRES.
To provide systems engineering support to programmes/bids as the need demands.
The initial position will be on the FRES programme, working within the systems engineering team, assisting with:
- Population and management of the DOORS requirements database
- Requirements analysis to support concept exploration
- Demonstration and validation and development tasks
- Support to sub-system teams on requirements clarification and trade-offs
- Support to ITEA team in determining requirements acceptance
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the engineering lead, assist with one or more of the following systems engineering activities:
- Requirements Management
- System/Subsystem Analysis & Design
- System/Subsystem Test & Acceptance
- System/Subsystem Technical Support
- Subcontractor Technical Management
- System/Subsystem Reviews
- Provide domain expertise in one or more areas of the AFV mission fit system, including electronic architecture, self defence weapons, system interoperability, cranes and winches.
Education/Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or IT or equivalent experience
- Background in systems development, preferably in the area of AFV Mission Fits.
- Knowledge/understanding of requirements/architecture/technology/products associated with AFV mission fits.
- Good understanding and experience of systems engineering process, including requirements management, systems analysis/design, system integration and test.
- Good documentation skills, with experience in the preparation of systems documentation, including system requirement specifications, system architecture specifications, system design specifications, system test plans, system test specifications.
- Experienced in the use of systems engineering tools/methodologies, including: requirements management tools (DOORS desirable), system design tools (MODAF/UML/ARTISAN desirable).
- Ability to think at the systems level.
- Self discipline in time management.
- Good self organisational ability
- Self motivated
- Ability to work within a team
- Ability/flexibility to support all stages of the systems engineering/project life-cycle
- Excellent English communication skills (oral, written, presentational), organizational skills, analyses and decision making skills, good interpersonal skills, sense of responsibility.
- Use of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
