SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR/CONTRACTS MANAGER
WASTE TO ENERGY (THERMAL)

First class career opportunities now exist for you to join this successful Swiss thermal waste management company which provide combustion energy recovery, flue gas scrubbing and residue processing. The company has concluded that the UK will provide the main basis for further expansion and they are now in the process of setting up a new division in Crawley, West Sussex where they have a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Contracts Manager.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor/Contracts Manager will review EPC Contracts and identify problem area/items and recommend action. You will draft/review subcontracts, assist in the contract negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers. You will also be responsible for the management & administration of the tender preparation process. You will participate in the Bid preparation programme and production of the Tender document. You will submit completed approved tender by due date and within budget.
Your role will also include the allocation of all contract deliverables to Tender team members. You will establish the change control process; risks, exclusions & assumptions registers and the Lessons Learnt register. Furthermore, you will co-ordinate the activities of the Site Quantity Surveyors and keep the Project Managers fully briefed on all contractual matters and claims.
You will have a degree or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent. Project Management related qualifications would also be a distinct advantage.
This role requires Project management experience of managing and coordinating a small team to ensure completion of key deliverables within cost (tender budget) and programme (bid due date). You will need the ability to understand a variety of contractual requirements, client specifications and technical requirements and ensure that the key issues are adequately catered for in the bid.

You will also have a sound understanding of the interaction between the contract deliverables, the estimating process and the requirements of resource codes. Assertive and confident in managing and directing a diverse team of people/skills, you will also have the ability to liaise with key suppliers to ensure best value is obtained. Good presentation skills are essential as is the ability to recognize improvements in existing processes and the confidence to implement changes as required.
