Commercial Manager- Mechanical & Electrical- M&E- London
You will be working for a separate trading entity within my client's Facilities Services. They have a turnover circa £250m and are responsible for the provision of Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance and installation projects for a number of Public and Private clients in the UK, both directly and in partnership with various commercial organisations and public bodies.
The internal market with my client provides massive opportunities especially within the growth sectors of defence and education as well as FM market with my client's partners.
The main purpose and responsibilities of this role will be to provide Commercial Management support to my client's projects teams delivering approx. £40m of installation projects per annum.
Commercial Controls
•Work with Project Managers to ensure commercial procedures are adhered to.
•Development and maintenance of Commercial Process and Procedures.
•Work closely with Commercial Director to develop post contract control procedures and create detailed management reporting tools and documents.
•Ensure that a robust procurement process is in place.
•Ensure Corporate Governance procedures are followed at local level.
Risk management
•Implement processes and systems to effectively manage risk.
•Implementation of appropriate commercial and contractual controls across the projects teams in order to effectively manage risk and maximise financial return.
•Liaise with my client's Legal department as necessary.
•Liaise with Supply Chain as necessary.
Maximising commercial performance
•Interrogate performance metrics to evaluate existing profitability, risk and establish whether we are fulfilling our contractual obligations.
•Commercial trouble-shooting regarding contractual issues on existing contracts, acting to identify and mitigate actual and/or potential problems.
Requirements:
•Qualified Quantity Surveyor or similar or demonstration of working towards qualification
•Degree level education (or equivalent)
•Full UK Driving Licence
The successful candidate would preferably have experience of maintenance service contracts and be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver commercial skills within a Facilities Management environment.

•Understanding of IS/IT systems for management of geographically spread workforce including timekeeping and job recording.

•Negotiation: Proven track record of successful contractual negotiations with client
•Assessment: Commercial evaluation of contracts and projects within maintenance environment
•Financial contracts: understanding the practical management of services commercial models in order to maximise profitability
•Risk management: awareness of suitable processes, systems and techniques to effectively manage risk
•Experience in Maintenance Agreements, Term Contracts, SOR's, PFI's and inter-company trading arrangements.
This senior role is offering an attractive basic salary of 55-70K depending on experience, plus car/allowance, healthcare, bonus, pension, phone, laptop and more.
