Description
Looking for a Senior Project Manager to join a growing rail team in Swindon.
You will be working with the Structures Examination Contract team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a new challenge.
Key Requirements:
Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant technical or managerial discipline. A professional qualification (e.g. CEng or IEng) is desirable, but additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu
Experience:
Previous experience in a relevant discipline preferably involving work of a structural or building nature. Previous experience in the rail industry and knowledge of railway practice is desirable
Primary Duties:
To manage a commission of work / proportion of a Contract area and deliver the client's objectives, through the effective management of resources and interfaces. To perform any tasks necessary to ensure satisfactory completion.
To undertake the role of Senior Project Manager, resources Manager, as defined in the Quality Manual (where defined) and the competency appraisal processes.
To undertake on-call duties at intervals to be agreed with the line manager but usually on a 1 in 8 basis
Typical Activities:
Liaison with the client area coordinators, subcontractors and third-parties.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the Project Quality, Safety and Environmental Plans, method statements, program, budget and resource plan.
Establishment of safe systems of works and application of the requirements of the Rulebook, where applicable.
Communication of project requirements to the project team and co-ordination of project activities.
Delivery of work to program, budget and specification.
Monitoring and reporting on progress and finances, cost information (including liabilities and accruals) for billing, contract administration. Undertake safety, quality and environmental checks and audits, as agreed.
Line management of staff, as designated.
IT Skills:
The Jobholder should be thoroughly conversant with MS Office suite and familiar with the use of Project Management software (P3, Suretrack or MS Project, Perform desirable)
Work Environment:
The position is office/depot based, but will require visits to clients, thrid parties and work sites as required
