Our client a large consultancy are looking for a Senior Project Controller for a long term water project in Dubai. These are water projects only and relevant experience is essential
This role will act as Lead/Supervisor with full responsibility for project controls function for large project(s), a portfolio of medium sized projects, or possibly an office. You will typically supervise 2 to 5 project control staff on multiple projects of average, to above average complexity.
Key Responsibilities will include;
Demonstrates advanced skill level and progressive experience within project controls related disciplines.
Fully accountable for all aspects of their work and their Team's work and for coordinating with all relevant individuals
Exerts judgment and provides analysis of results of project controls and recommends actions to Project Manager
Monitors deviations/inconsistencies, project progress and recommends corrective action when required
Interfaces directly with external and internal clients in order to review project plans, budgets, status reports and deliverables
Functional role to educate and train other Project Control team members inc. Graduates and Technicians
Assists in continuous improvement of project control system(s), practices and processes
Actively shares knowledge through the client's Knowledge Management Framework (Knowledge Communities, Discussion Forums, etc.)
To be successful in this role you should have strong proven competence in project control after completing undergraduate education or equivalent.
A degree in Engineering, Science, Business or similar or equivalent is desired. Training and qualifications in Project Management, Pricing and Negotiations and project management software tools are also desirable.
You should have proven previous responsibility for having successfully served as Lead Project Controller on variety of projects for a number of PMs where they successfully completed their project controls functions, including providing analysis to the PMs on the result of their work.
Essential for this role is a good knowledge of Primavera P5/P6 and some exposure to MS Project would be an advantage. Basic understanding of MWH's mTools would be an asset but is not essential and knowledge of Cost Control/Analysis would also be an asset to this role.
Knowledge of financial/accounting practices would be useful
You should be able to demonstrate skills in managing and leading teams with good negotiation, communication, and formal presentation skills. Good team work skills in working with project team members and peers is also important.
