The Senior Mechanical Engineering Specialist will provide mechanical engineering expertise for all the Acetyls technologies. You will identify and incorporate innovations, improvements, lessons learned and regulatory changes into the licensed technology packages. You will prepare the Engineering Manuals for all Acetyls licenses, taking full responsibility for their technical content and output quality. You will be responsible for supporting the Projects and Licensing Teams process engineers in the preparation of the Process Design Packages and associated Licensor deliverables.
During third party negotiations and subsequent Licensee project execution and plant operation you will play a key role in protecting the companys interests. You will provide mechanical engineering support to Licensees in accordance with the relevant License Agreement and ongoing Technical Support Agreement. Furthermore, you will lead certain sections of the club peer review team as well as support the Acetyls Business Development Team in the evaluation of global major projects. You will produce detailed proposals and prepare design information in support of major Acetyls plant modifications and debottlenecks. Your role will also be to support Acetyls field Project Management Teams during project execution, including temporary secondment to the design office and/or construction site if required.
Successful candidates will be Chartered Mechanical Engineers, able to make valued and respected contributions to internal or external technical discussions, preferably with experience of representing in meetings and negotiations with third parties. The Senior Mechanical Engineering specialist will work effectively in multi-cultural, multi-discipline environments, both in the UK and overseas, preferably with experience of working with joint ventures and with working in the Far East. An awareness of the Acetyls process technology and recent history is advantageous.
You will be familiar with project control procedures, preferably gained through practical experience of major project execution or working with Managing Contractors. You will be able to develop an effective network of professional contacts. A self-starter with drive and energy, you are able to take initiative and responsibility for achieving technical targets within your assigned area. Innovative, with an eye for identifying opportunities for improving reliability and efficiency successful candidates will also have strong personal commitment to achieving team goals. You must also be willing to travel as this role involves 25% travel.
