Description
Large International Consultancy require Construction professionals to operate out of their offices in Berlin.
Ideally you will speak German and have experience of Concept Design with a consultancy background.
Location: Berlin
Qualifications:
Dipl. Ing in mechanical engineering or equivalent national qualification and/or
Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership
Job Purpose:
My client's design offices in Berlin and Warsaw undertake multi disciplinary design work for projects throughout Central Europe and Russia. Their clients principally consist of internationally focused architects and developers and appreciate the skills and added value we are able to bring to their projects.
They are expanding the capability of their Berlin team and wish to appoint a Senior Building Services Engineer to operate within this market. The requirements will from time to time demand travel to where opportunities are (current regional projects with English speaking clients are ongoing in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary, Russia, Georgia and Ukraine).
Person Specification:
My client is a multidisciplinary practise that succeeds through the individual and collaborative skills of its people. This post requires a candidate who must have:
Corporate membership of a relevant institution or equivalent national qualification.
Developing track record of experience in the field of building services engineering.
Good communication skills and preferably fluent in German and English.
Experience in dealing with other employees and external clients.
Good level of understanding of multi disciplinary building design.
Strong interest in the design of passive low energy buildings and building simulation.
Desire to develop skills in consulting architects and client of engineering design strategy.
Experience or desire to gain experience of international working in a team environment.
Confident, proactive character, with a growing ability to take the lead in challenging situations.
Potential to consult and manage clients.
Desire to grow into a position of more senior level of responsibility.
Ability to run projects successfully.
Good IT skills.
Duties will include:
Act as job leader & project engineer on building services engineering projects
Operate and competently work on an independent basis
Communicate directly with Clients
Assist the Group Manager and project Leaders to prepare technical and financial proposals for new work.
Assist the project leader to monitor job resourcing and expenditure
Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians.
Prepare and take responsibility for schematic engineering solutions for detail design
Prepare Technical Specifications
Check/verify other team members work
Be alive to new project opportunities and activities across multi disciplinary projects
Contribute to setting up and management of job/project administrative systems.
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
Ensuring all relevant staff are informed of client matters.
Continually ensuring that practises, policies, strategy and services represent the client's best interests and that their policy is in keeping with current legislation, international Standards and Codes of Practise etc.
