Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
£35,000 - £40,000

My client is a specialist in the design and manufacture of control and measurement instruments for many diverse industries such as oil, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food, cosmetics, plastics and transport. They are currently seeking a senior mechanical design engineer on a permanent basis to support and lead their already established design team. The senior mechanical design engineer position has become available due to growth, expansion and a full order book that the current design team cannot fulfil.
As a senior mechanical design engineer you will need to be educated to a degree level or equivalent within a mechanical engineering discipline. You will need to have taken an original design concept through to production whilst project managing it through its lifecycle. You will need to have experience of instrumentation design along with the design of small sheet metal parts, small mechanisms and plastic injection moulded parts.
You will work alongside the current design team to produce control and measurement equipment for the different industries my client deals with. You will be working a wide range of products so your design and project management will be varied. Having done new product introduction previously (NPI) would be advantageous as my client is looking into developing new and exciting products.
The salary offered is in the region of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum dependant upon experience along with an above industry standard package.
