An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Fareham, South of England. The successful applicant will have proven experience in a similar role, Electro-Mechanical Design, and will have prime responsibility for

To prepare design layouts/feasibility studies and detailed drawing packages for avionic instruments.

1. To work in conjunction with engineers and production teams to bring tasks/projects to completion within stipulated time and cost limits.
2. Manage and perform activities to ensure product designs incorporate appropriate trade-off analysis in order to drive a design.
3. Compile design layouts and investigate individual aspects of design for presentation at project and design review meetings.
4. To prepare full technical data packages including FEA Thermal, Vibration, and Stress analysis and calculations.
5. To produce full manufacturing drawing/documentation sets tacking into consideration DFA, DFP, and DFT techniques and effect all required dimensional and tolerancing calculations.
6. To ensure drawing and documentation changes and execute as necessary.
7. To provide technical assistance to all departments in respect of design, manufacture and quality issues.
8. To liaise with other departments, customers, suppliers, consultants and authorities as required.
9. Assist the engineering manager in the formulation of mechanical design strategy and continual process improvement, in support of the company business and strategic objectives.
