Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
£35,000 - £45,000

My client is a market leader in the design, development and manufacture of innovative logistics automation systems. They specialise in materials handling systems such as storage and retrieval machines, conveying and order picking solutions. They are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead projects from original conception through to manufacture and on-site installation.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead projects which involves on-site client liaison, providing technical support to Mechanical Design Engineer's, taking a project through from concept to manufacture and onto installation at the client's site. You will need previous project management experience within a similar industry along with a strong mechanical design background as the position does involve day to day CAD design.
Candidates will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will need to be fully conversant in the use of AutoCAD or Inventor or SolidWorks. You will need to have worked in a materials handling environment for a minimum of 5 years. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will need to have a strong design engineering background.
Experience in either of the following is essential: Subsystem layout, integrated layout, materials handling, pallet design, conveyor systems design and parts list experience.
