Description
Couch Perry & Wilkes LLP is a well established and respected Building Services Engineering Consultancy with offices in Cambridgeshire, Nottingham and Birmingham. This privately owned practice was formed in 1978 and now employs over 100 engineers. Our Huntingdon Office opened in 2005 and has gone from strength to strength.
Due to the success of this office we are now looking to establish a second team to engage in the diverse and interesting projects going forward. We are currently working on designs for new college campuses, university buildings, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, healthcare and commercial. The company prides itself on having a hands on approach to design, with a focus on the engineering solutions ahead of other business targets.
Role/Responsibilities:
Manage the design process from concept to detail design and beyond through construction commissioning and handover.
Engage fully with the design team and other stakeholders, influencing the buildings design where appropriate while still recognising the needs and desires of the other team members.
Network with other professionals within the company and outside to gain and share knowledge.
Practice, advise and coach where required good sound mechanical engineering design principals.
Play a key role in the development and growth of the Cambridge Office.
Contribute to and support the companys commitment to produce passive and sustainable design solutions that are easy to build and above all easy to operate.
The Person:

Will have a thorough understanding of mechanical Building Services Engineering capable of delivering robust designs.
Innovative and willing to challenge the norm.
Have excellent leadership qualities.
Will be well versed at managing a number of design projects simultaneously.
Have a degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
Will have strong influencing skills, especially during the initial stages of design
May come from a design maintenance contractor or project management background.
Above all have a sense of humour.
