My Client a world leader in Plant building is seeking a Senior Instrument & Control Engineer to join their expanding team.
Role
Pre-Projects
•Prepare detailed cost and man-hour estimates based on basic Drive List and PID information.
•Prepare basic Instrumentation and Control equipment specifications for enquiry / tender purposes.
•Preparation of tender documentation, written specifications and scope of work documents.
•Attend client / contractor meetings on a E, I & C basis
Project
•Prepare detailed Instrument and Control documentation including:-
- Control Philosophy Drawing
- Equipment summary
- Instrument Summary
- Calculations
- Relay section and Process interlocking diagrams
- Cable & termination schedules
- I/O schedules
- Functional Descriptions
- Equipment specifications
- Installation Hook-ups
- Installation drawings
- Instrument loop diagrams
- Instrument block diagrams
•Prepare detailed information for purchase of Instrumentation and Control equipment, review vendor suitability and carry out detailed technical bid analysis leading to final vendor selection.
•Lead medium to large projects
•Site survey work
•Review of installation contractors
•Supervision of installation sub-contractors at site during installation and commissioning.
•Carry out commissioning of Instrumentation and Control equipment.
Education / Knowledge
•A flexible approach.
•Must be able to work with a multi-discipline team, but also show initiative and be able to work on tasks with minimal supervision.
•Overseas experience, working with different cultures would be an advantage.
Experience
•A good all round knowledge of Instrumentation and Control requirements for heavy engineering, preferably Iron & Steel but not essential
•Background knowledge of Electrical engineering as well as project management.
•A practical, as well as theoretical knowledge would be advantageous.
•Working knowledge of BS, IEC, NEMA and EU standards.
•Background in both office design and site environments
•Computer literate with a sound working knowledge of MS Word, Access, Excel
