Responsibilities
My client has retained consultants on a number of framework and panel appointments
including a National Framework for Flood Risk Mapping and Catchment Flood Management for the Environment Agency. This and other frameworks generate the need to undertake hydrological and hydraulic modelling to determine modelled water levels for given design flows and as such determine flood risk; and to undertake Environmental Impact Assessment exercises to determine the impact and effects of flood mitigation measures on the environment. The Environment Team also undertake Flood Risk, Flood Consequence and Environmental Assessments for development applications. The post will be responsible for the delivery of projects and in particular the production
of technical reports, including presentation to clients.

The Individual
The post will be an integral member within the Water Environment and wider Environment
Department. Working most closely with staff from within the Water Environment Team the hydraulic modeller will provide direction and technical supervision of junior staff. The successful applicant will be required to manage their own workload and the workload of others to meet project requirements. Reporting to a Team Leader, the post will work routinely with Senior Hydraulic Engineer, Hydraulic modellers, Hydrologists, Environmental Engineers, GIS staff, Ecologists and other environmental specialists.
