A firm of building contractors in East London seeks a Senior Estimator to join their team.

My client, a large main contractor seeks a Senior Estimator to work in Head Office in East London. Reporting to the Chief Estimator/Divisional Manager, the position requires a comprehensive knowledge of estimating and tendering procedures to accurately price Tender Packages in accordance with standard company estimating procedures and to suit return dates where applicable; To provide the most realistic net price for the project; Liaise with Consultants as appropriate in tender preparation; Where required, carry out analytical build-up of unit rates; To obtain competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations in accordance with guidance notes available; Formulate strategies for pricing with your line manager/directors; Liaise with the in-house design managers when required; Develop programmes and method statements; Ensure all subcontractor packages are sent out in good time; Taking off is to be in general accordance with standard method of measurement; Prepare tender settlement sheet and attend tender settlement meetings; Check that all tender document information is available and of a standard suitable for tendering; Prepare tenders based on Estimating procedure guidance notes (copy will be supplied); Undertake site visits in preparation of all tenders and take photographs; Price all works in line with current market conditions; Attend handover meetings with operational divisions for successful tenders; Assist with contract development. You may also supervise trainees.
