Senior Engineer - Transit
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join our Client's Transit Power Division.
The Role:
Carry out a vital role within a dedicated team, with the task of delivering robust and cost effective power system solutions.
Responsible for a range of engineering activities from bid to delivery.
Working closely with other team members and sub-contractors to develop technical solutions to successfully meet project objectives.
The successful Candidate will:
Be educated to degree level with post-graduate experience in an electrical engineering environment.
Have hands on experience of substation design and integration covering ac and dc switchboards, power transformers, battery chargers, lv panels / switchboards, including:
Specification and rating of equipment for procurement and manufacture.
Technical liaison with equipment suppliers and internal manufacturing.
Integration of the substation equipment into a functioning substation, e.g equipment interconnections.
Reviewing supplier drawings and documentation against requirements.
Production of substation test specifications & manuals.
Knowledge of substation integration in a dc traction environment is highly desirable.
Hands on experience of power rectifier design is desirable.
Ability to apply best practice in a cost competitive environment.
Other Requirements:
Some travel required e.g. supplier visits, vendor assessments.
Overtime may be required in order to achieve deadlines.
Successful candidates will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
