Assystem UK is looking for a Senior Engineer to support Diesel Development/ Calibration. Ongoing contracts on offer paying Limited company rate of 26.31 per hour based in Essex

The roles and responsibilities of the Senior Engineers are as follows:
Plan, execute and deliver an Engine Management System Calibration to meet vehicle performance, fuel economy and driveability objectives and to satisfy the requirements for the control of exhaust emissions and On Board Diagnostics as demanded by legislation. Assist in vehicle/Powertrain problem identification and resolution. Coordinate calibration commonisation, processes and procedures. Skills Required:
Knowledge and understanding of Diesel combustion
Knowledge of combustion system, performance HW and emission component design and specification
Knowledge of set-point calibration and optimisation techniques processes and tools Skills Preferred:
Vehicle calibration processes and tools and classical control theory. Vehicle and control electronics, control strategy, hardware design, after-treatment system engineering. Engine design and manufacture
Experience Required:
Demonstrated hands on experience in Diesel Development or Calibration in a senior position is required. Relevant experience covering Calibration, Control System Development or Application, knowledge of combustion and emission control technologies, working knowledge of Calibration guides and Engine Management System development process Education Required:
Candidates must have a minimum of HNC/HND in relevant field, ideally educated to Degree level.
