A vacancy has arisen within the Engineering Department for a Senior Engineer the company design & manufacture electric motors and revolutionary new in-wheel motors for the automotive industry.
The company specialize in the Automotive, Aerospace and Defence industrys for Motors and Controls that are used worldwide to provide the very latest precision servo motion control. Our dc servo motors use flat armature technology which enables the motors to be extremely compact and efficient with exceptional controllability which can be customised to suit clients' precise requirements.
Key Objective: Lead the specification, technical assessment and design of high power battery systems to support Company in-wheel motors for electric vehicles.
Responsibilities:
•Survey the market and compare available battery solutions
•Identify, qualify and recommend battery suppliers
•Work with key suppliers to develop bespoke solutions for Companies system
•Specify and secure the supply of a bespoke battery management system
•Work with key customers to provide advice and recommendations on battery solutions
•Keep up to date with latest developments in batteries and battery management systems
Reports to:Technical Director
Experience
•Minimum of 5 years experience electronics
•Minimum of 2 years experience in battery technologies including Lithium-Ion
•Experience with battery management systems for Lithium-Ion batteries
•Experience with electric vehicles is desirable
•CAN bus experience is very desirable
•Good degree in an appropriate scientific / engineering discipline
•Project management experience
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 - plus benefits including Final Salary Pension, Health Care, Contribution Pension and 25 Days Holiday.
