An exciting opportunity has arisen within a fast growing life sciences company for a highly experience electronic design engineer. Extensive analogue and digital design experience is a must, with first hand experience of DSP/FPGA/CPLD development
Our client is looking to expand their current team to help design and develop and provide electronic engineering resource for DNA sequencing product development; in particular digital signal processing, multiplexing and communications.
The ideal candidate will either have a keen interest in, or an understanding of Biology or life-science areas.
This job will involve:
Electronic engineering from product concept through to customer delivery. Specification, electronic design, prototyping, test and evaluation. Apply electronics, software and engineering knowledge and proven skills in systems design and problem solving methodologies to produce products that meet performance specifications, quality requirements and cost targets that are introduced to the market place on time. Communication with other engineering personnel especially data processing disciplines and an understanding of all aspects of the system design are critical.
Be involved at all stages of the product development process, for example:-
To work with other members of the product development team to translate product requirements into engineering product specifications.
To conduct technical reviews during the development of new products.
Design and development electronic systems including schematic capture, but not necessarily layout.
To produce technical project reports for the product development team.
To support and trouble shoot the introduction of new products and in particular pilot batches into manufacturing.
Experience/Skills Required:
Extensive relevant electronics engineering experience.
Analogue to digital conversion and digital signal processing.
Design methodologies of electronic data acquisition.
Electronic Engineering CAD systems.
Advantageous:
Demonstrable history of working with multi-channel data acquisition systems.
Embedded software design.
First hand experience of DSP/FPGA/CPLD development.
Knowledge of windows software design.
Desirable:
Previous experience of developing scientific instrumentation.
A general understanding of biology or life-science areas.
