SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEERS

Senior Electrical Design Engineers are now required at this leading car manufacturer in Norfolk to lead up to three engineers and designers to deliver technical solutions to project teams within required cost, quality and time targets.
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the technical ownership of focused vehicle subsystems and integration or component design within a project. You will have responsibility for the generation of BOM and will provide support to the Project team in the generation of the Engineering Timing Release Schedule; technical direction to the CAD designers; creation of component drawings, and work on FMEAs to support project requirements. You will also provide support to the purchasing function and to the Project team in the creation of harness package information. Furthermore you will undertake fit and function testing of subsystem components as well as collation of test results and concern reports and generation of resulting modifications. You will support the Release Engineer/Manager in generating planning and proposal information if required and support the department in achieving the requirements of quality systems approval (QS 9000, Ford Q1 etc).
Successful candidates will be educated to HNC level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Ideally you will have an automotive background, but applications are also welcome from candidates from other transport industries. You will be PC literate and have CAD knowledge. Some short and long haul travel may be required to support project needs and therefore you will also need to be willing to travel.
