Senior EHS Adviser required for this leading defence company located in South Essex - to ensure company compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety legislation.This position requires full MOD security clearance, all candidates must be able to meet strict MOD clearance criteria.


Education and Experience:
Essential: Minimum qualification HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with experience in a Environmental, Health and Safety in a manufacturing industry. NEBOSH National Diploma in Health and Safety. Experience in a management role is necessary


Desirable: A recognised qualification in Environmental studies, with experience in an Environmental role in a manufacturing industry.


Essentially this role will require the successful candidate to advise all management and employees of their responsibilities and assist in implementing safe systems of work to provide a safe and healthy environment and to lead the way on asset protection to sustain the business.


The Senior EHS Advisor will be required to establish, implement and maintain an Environmental Management system in accordance with ISO14001 and report to management on performance, review and recommend improvements. Interpret all relevant legislation and advise management and employees, to enable compliance. Develop company policies and specifications. Develop and implement EHS management systems to integrate EHS into the business operations. Coordinate monitoring of the workplace environment by implementing an Occupational Hygiene programme. Develop training and awareness programmes. Auditing of all EHS management systems and processes. Provide written reports and recommendations and follow up on implementation. Provides input to regulating bodies and liaise with Corporate to ensure compliance and alignment. Reviews building, lay-out and process changes and all new installations &acquisitions - close relationship with Facilities.
