SENIOR DESIGNER ENGINEER - Aerospace
A Senior Aerospace Design Engineer required to define a product that meets the customers requirements and expectations within the agreed time scales and costs using 2D or 3D CAD software and to check other Draughtsmens drawings and models. You will need to review and analyse Manufacturing Queries and non-conformance and liase with Operations to identify and implement cost reduction activities. You should have 5 years experience of CAD in Aerospace ideally Pro Engineer. Experience of Catia V4 & V5 experience is an advantage. A Degree or HNC/HND required in Mechanical Engineering. Salary circa £35,000.
Key Responsibilities
To review & analyse non-conforming material for acceptability
First point of contact for all Manufacturing & procurement queries
In conjunction with Operations investigate & analyse low yield and/or non cost effective parts
To produce design schemes of proposed design changes for review and approval.
Produce Non Recurring Cost (NRC) estimates for implementation & Recurring Cost savings.
Raise Change Requests (CRs) and modify drawings as required.
Produce Product Improvement Design schemes.
Produce estimates on Work Packages.
Produce detail designed 3D solid models using PRO-Engineer software version 2001.
Produce 2D fully associative manufacturing drawings using PRO-Detail software.
Work within and store data in Intralink data manager environment.
Check other Draughtsmens work.
Liaise with other Engineers and Manufacturing to ensure the engineering intent and manufacturability is captured in the detail design and product definition.
Create & calculate assembly tolerance stack-ups to ensure design intent of fits and interchangeability.
Working from approved Engineering Change Requests, modify PRO-Detail drawings and record changes as required.
Attend Design Assessments/Reviews as requested by Design Manager
