Description
The Senior Configuration Engineer is responsible for supporting the Configuration Manager of any given Project, including responsibility for the configuration management of a minor project or major parts of a project and/or controlling work of a significant volume on task packages relating the departments overall workload.
Prepare project CM Plan and Sub Contractor CM Requirements Plan
Co-ordination of major committee meetings eg CMC, LTC, CCB, the relevant supporting documentation, including liaison with customer representatives, the meeting chairman and design and manufacturing representatives.
Provide technical secretarial duties and preparation and issue of minutes and agendas for CM related meetings.
Manage the design definition of projects or major parts of a project using both manual and automated CM systems.
Create and control configuration status accounting data to meet contractual and company requirements.
Control changes
Undertake configuration audits
Support to the management of project task packages including the progress/performance
Generation of cost and resource estimates.
Prepare specific project reports
Technical liaison with project, development and manufacturing teams, including sub contractors
Problem Solving Challenges
Anticipates and responds to changing customer requirements and expectations.
May be required to resolve the issues of trying to implement control on a developing product whilst maintaining control to minimise project risk.
Performance Indicators
Configuration Management Plans prepared and reviewed within timescales
Configuration meetings managed with timely minutes.
Configuration Management e-Tools maintained with latest information.
Accurate Status Accounting Reports generated and delivered as required.
Audit Programmes maintained, Reports compiled and monitored.
Task Packages managed successfully within timescales and to budget
