A new opportunity exists for a Senior Commercial Engineer to be an active member of the Naval Business world-wide and provide advice and guidance whenever necessary. You will have an active role in promoting Naval business activities and the companys services and helping to ensure prospects are turned into orders, contributing directly to the companys business strategy plan.
You will be responsible for assisting in developing the Naval business recognising the world-wide company's established credibility in particular UK, USA and France, advising on day to day activities in response to enquiries, processing specifications/ drawings and other relevant enquiry documentation through engineering design and agree the most effective solution and coordinating the estimating for the most economic cost for the solution.
The role of Senior Commercial Engineer will also require you to prepare tender estimate/pricing sheets and required approval documents, maintain company database with progress tender, provide Intergrated Logistic Support, Contract Logistic Service, Service Support and mutual benefits to both Ministry of Defence and the company, carry out major repairs, upgrades and OPDEF Rectification and organise and actively participate at events.
You should be educated to a minimum of HND / Degree in Naval Engineering or a HND / degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering. You should also have qualifications leading to Chartered engineer and membership of relevant institutions. To succeed as Senior Commercial Engineer you should also be experienced in dealing with UK Defence Procurement Agency and War Support Agency, dealing with Government and Senior Naval Officers. A good understanding of propulsion systems and Naval requirements is essential as is computer literacy. A Degree in Electrical Marine Engineering and French speaking is desirable but not essential.

A flexible approach to your duties and working hours is essential and you must also be prepared to travel, sometimes at short notice, throughout the UK and overseas. You will need strong and convincing communication skills. You must have excellent organisation and planning skills. You should have a proactive attitude, work on your own initiative and work well as part of a team.
