Description
The technical work role will be to carry out dyno and vehicle based calibration development, analyse results to calibrate the powertrain control system and support the validation and release of the calibrations into production.

Reporting To: Chief Engineer, Calibration
Purpose of Job
The technical work role will be to carry out dyno and vehicle based calibration
development, analyse results to calibrate the powertrain control system and
support the validation and release of the calibrations into production.
Duties
To develop workload and facility plans to support the calibration project
To carry out engine dyno mapping and control system hardware
characterisation
To develop tailpipe and evaporative emissions to meet development targets
and legislative requirements
To develop and calibration the vehicle on-board diagnostic system
Driveability development to meet customer objectives
To prepare and perform/lead hot climate/cold climate and high altitude
development to meet customer objectives
To prepare reports and presentations as part of the calibration
documentation for status reviews and to support sign-off
To carry out validation testing for the release of the powertrain control
system calibration
Qualifications
A Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering or a HNC/D with
relevant experience
An appropriate Professional qualification
Experience
Torque based EMS experience (ideally including Bosch EMS)
Testing on both test bed and in-vehicle
Calibration and validation ideally including mapping, emissions,
driveability and OBD.
Model based data optimisation
Skills
Good PC / IT literacy
Matlab/Simulink application skills (preferred)
German language skills (fluent preferred)
Effective communicator
Good planning and organisation

Self motivated and confident

Progression and reporting of assigned calibration tasks
