We are seeking a Senior Buyer with strong IT and communications skills. The duties including electronic component and related material procurement, supply chain management, stock control, kitting and support to production. The position requires a well organised character with the desire to progress his/her career in a growing International RF/electronics business.
You will actively be involved in end to end procurement within a wide range of indirect category areas. This position will have the opportunity to review and develop existing processes and procedures, design implement and embed standards for best practice procurement. You will also be responsible for expenditure analysis, tender management and supplier base rationalisation, followed by identifying potential suppliers and maintaining relationships and negotiating with suppliers. You are expected to provide specialist procurement knowledge across a broad spectrum of commodity areas and assist with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. You will identify improvement opportunities, determine the most appropriate procurement strategies and from these identify a cost benefit analysis. For best customer service you will ensure that staff/supplier queries are dealt with expediently and politely. You will be assigned to manage a small dynamic team and you will be expected to be a proactive leader.
The successful candidate will be responsible in procurement operations including:
• Supply Chain Management
• Frame Agreement and price negotiation
• Sourcing Electronic products / components internationally.
Essential Requirements:
• Minimum of 10 years experience in electronics or related engineering industry.
• MRP/ERP experience
• Knowledge in quality control /assurance
• Good IT skills
• Confident negotiator
Advantageous:-
• Knowledge of ISO 9000 procedures.
• Implementing an ERP or MRP
• Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply
