Senior Applications Engineer/Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen within this leading Midlands based machine tool manufacturer which is based on the West Midlands, Warwickshire and Leicestershire border for an Applications Engineer/Manager who has a solid mechanical engineering grounding.

THE ROLE

The successful candidate will be working alongside the existing applications team specifically on its milling applications. It will be your role to work with your customers specifically in the pre and post sales part of the process. You will provide all technical information on what a machine can do as well as demonstrating the qualities of the clients equipment to the customer. You will then be responsible for the training and development of the setters and operators both at the Midlands plant and on occasion at the customers UK site. Also within this role you will be given some managerial responsibilities as well as the opportunity to develop a team of Applications Engineers.

THE PERSON

You will need to have experience of working within a mechanical craft role such as operating or setting. A mechanical craft apprenticeship or mechanical qualification would be an advantage. It would be useful if you had experience of Milling or turning machinery, however full training will be provided. This role will suit a hands on engineer who is in a shop floor role including hands on production or manufacturing engineers or existing senior applications engineers who want to progress. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic with a desire to progress and develop their career in the future.
