Description
Applications Engineer/ Product Engineer required for leading specialist manufacturing company. Based in South Yorkshire they are seeking Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience of technical applications, providing customers with unique design solutions. Experience within metals, composit or mechanical applications prefered. Unigraphics and European language capability usefull. Providing link between sales design and production.
Vacancy Senior Applications Engineer/ Product Engineer
The Person
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but consideration will be given to candidates with relevant experience. You must be competent in the use of CAD systems, preferably Unigraphics NX and AutoCAD. You will also be able to make engineering calculations given the operating parameters such as load, speed and area.
The Role
The role involves design work on bearings and other composite and metal components for use in marine, industrial and hydraulic systems. You will liaise with other engineers both internally and externally to generate solutions to customer problems quickly and efficiently. Design work requires the use of both standard office packages and bespoke software. Having completed the calculations and selected the correct materials, you will prepare quotations and put together a technical package for the customers.
The Applications
There will be a need to present these solutions to customers both in writing and face to face. You will help run training courses for customers and group sales and engineering staff. This will be done both in house and externally and foreign travel may be necessary. Our major industrial markets are in Europe and an ability to speak Italian would be highly beneficial.
