Description

Objective

Due to ongoing strategic developments within the CAD/CAM/PDM environment, a CAD/CAM/Systems specialist is required to support both PD and Manufacturing with Evaluation, Testing and Deployment of appropriate capability which enables Aston Martin's Product Creation System (AMPCS). This role will support the above initiative in addition to maintaining our Engineering CAD & Drafting Standards and Seamless Integration of our Supplier Community (Includes Data Exchange).

Responsibilities

Keep abreast of all appropriate developments/enhancements within the Current & Future toolsets.
Act as SPOC (single point of contact) for all PD/Manufacturing based staff for application concern resolutions.
Concern resolution contained at source or via consultation with third parties.
Roll out appropriate training/awareness sessions to the user community in advance of application upgrades in order to maintain business continuity.
Supervise the evaluation/testing and deployment of future upgrades, ensuring compatibility across Applications, Hardware and OS.
Maximise the utilisation of software in an appropriate manner and maintain usage/billing metrics for programme management use.
Maintain contact with other appropriate user based communities to identify areas for potential synergies.
Keep abreast of developments within KBE (Knowledge Based Engineering) and ADP arenas for potential use within the business, based on cost/benefits analysis.
Evaluate/Deploy appropriate KBE/ADP enablers to the user community and document process/methods information.
Support Appropriate Methods/Process development in support of current/future CAD/CAM applications.
Chair the AML Cad & Drafting Standards Committee in order to drive consistency of use across the business and supply chain.Establish Automated CAD checking procedures where appropriate to the business
Manage the seamless integration of AML suppliers, including the establishment of appropriate CAD "Statements of Work" between AML & Suppliers

Experience

Batchelor Degree and/or 2 years relevant Technical/IT experience preferred
Good working knowledge of Current CAD Creation & KBE/ADP Tools
Good understanding of other CAD systems (e.g. CATIA, CADDS & Unigraphics)
Basic Unix skills (Level one admin minimum Solaris 8/10 &HPUX)
Good PC Admin skills and Good presentation skillsMust show a willingness to follow verbal or written instructions.
Ability to complete assignments/tasks with minimum supervision.
Team/customer oriented.
Ability to web search internally and externally for relevant information.
Highly motivated, with a desire to improve skills and progress the company.
