A leading engineering company are looking for a Sales Support Engineer to manage technical proposals, negotiations and relationship building.

Main Purpose of Job:

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare business recommendations for annual and extended pricing agreements to secure existing business on the most favourable terms.
- Obtain data to support sales and order budget preparation and forecasting.
- Develop strong long term customer relationships.
- Respond to enquires, liaising with Purchasing, Engineering, Production and Order Processing in order to prepare quotations.
- Provide fast turn-around of 'price list' quotations.
- Quotation submission, follow up and subsequent analysis of conversion to order rates.
- Contract review of subsequent orders, customer screening and order input.
- Competitor analysis to identify market strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
- Be the first point of customer contact and respond to general customer and end user technical requests, including logging enquiries from customers.
- In conjunction with the Sales Manager assisting in the process of customer contract negotiations. Ensuring that the terms of existing business agreements are adhered to.
- Gather and analyse data on which to base customer satisfaction measures.
- Visit existing, prospective new customers.
- Report preparation for monthly / annual sales and quotation conversion rates.
- Attend internal meetings regarding engineering, product development and sales, handling any subsequent sales related actions as requested.
- Receiving visiting customer's representatives, performing technical presentations to promote the products and the business.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Good IT skills
- A good technical background i.e. Min HND in engineering
- - Ability to write technical proposals

Desirable:
- Working knowledge of Vibration monitoring and Condition Monitoring.
- A recognised technical qualification would be an advantage.
- Desirable- Well developed technical sales skills, proven in a sales role.
- Desirable- Experience in Petrochemical and/or Oil and Gas industries.

The salary for the role is £23k-£30k+ pension etc
