A leading engineering company are looking for a Sales Engineer, to develop new and existing business in the Oil and Gas industry.
Reporting To:Applications Manager
Location:Basingstoke or Aberdeen
Region:UK / Continental Europe
The Sales Manager is responsible for developing new business and servicing the existing customer base in the United Kingdom (including Aberdeen) and continental Europe, excluding Scandinavia (which is covered by our Stavanger office). The Sales Manager will report to the Applications Manager in Basingstoke.
This is a key position within the organisation, with real potential to drive the company's aggressive sales growth targets. The Sales Manager will develop close relationships with customer focal points and maintain these relationships at all stages of the procurement process, from initial contact, through bidding, project award, exc.
Experience in Sales & Marketing roles in the Oil & Gas industry is essential, experience in process package equipment would be beneficial, but not essential as extensive product training will be provided.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- identifying business opportunities for the Oil & Gas industry to meet set sales targets;
- Maintaining sales forecasts for the region and establish sales targets for future periods;
- foster relationships with clients;
- identifying the key decision makers in the client organisation and determining the key drivers for the client;
- providing input into the bid process, both for budget and firm quotations, to ensure that the clients needs are addressed
- attending Bid Clarification Meetings;
- liasing with the client during project execution to ensure that their expectations are being met, and to assist in the resolution of any issues which may arise;
- Giving technical presentations to client personnel, at sales calls, formal meetings, technical conferences etc.;
- attending conferences;
- organizing and attending exhibitions;
- analysing competitors, including their products and their sales strategies;
Whilst having sole sales responsibility for a key area, the Sales Manager will also be a member of the team responsible for setting the direction and managing the development of the business.
The salary for the role is 40k-45k+ bonus, car, pension.
