Our leading consultancy client is looking to take on an experienced Risk / Safety Engineer.
The client is seeking a suitable(s) candidate for the post of Safety/Risk Engineer (Project Engineer, Senior Engineer or Principal Engineer grade). The individual(s) will be based in our Warrington office within our Oil and Gas section.
We are looking for an engineer(s) with a chemical, process or safety related degree who is able to contribute to existing projects as well as supporting those which are developing. The suitable candidate should be experienced in carrying out risk/safety related assessments in the oil and gas, petrochemical or related industries.
The technical workload will encompass the following techniques:
Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment
Consequence modelling, including use of packages such as Shell FRED, Shepherd and various fire/blast CFD codes
Bow-Tie modelling using ABS's THESIS code
Safety Case/COMAH Case development and support
HAZID/HAZOP/SIL
The individual will be expected to have experience of some of the above and a willingness to develop skills in those areas in which he or she is weak. Mentoring will be provided in this regard.
The expected work profile would require the person to work both on his own initiative and with the other team members including other offices with the group. Work is ultimately likely to require some travel both within the region (Europe and Middle East) and possibly beyond.
