Our client specialises in the provision of planning, design and management services pertaining to transportation, water, maritime and property. They are the leading consultant in the airports sector in the Middle East. They are looking for a RESIDENT ENGINEER/ PROJECT MANAGER to join their team based at Seeb Airport Muscat, Oman. They have substantial role in development in Sharja and Abu Dhabi international airports where they are assisting their clients to meet their needs for over 15 years.
In addition to Sharja and Abu Dhabi our client have portfolio clients with multi disciplinary projects that requires design management and project management of airfield infrastructure and airport building project throughout the Middle East region. The principal function of this position is to be the site Project Manager and Resident Engineer for a completion of a passenger terminal extension at the existing international airport at seeb in Muscat. The position reports to the UAE based Project Director. There is a small team already supervising the project including a client appointed Architect.
If you wishes this to be permanent assignment then it is anticipated that transfer to a project management or similar position in the UAE or a similar position in Muscat will be arranged.
Roles and Responsibilities may include:
•Responsibility for delivering the commission to build company business and reputation, whist maintaining the project commercial performance of the project.
•Good leadership, communication skills and flexibility in dealing with a variety of client, contractor and stakeholder representatives.
•Strong commercial awareness and control skills.
•Ability to communicate clearly in English with the Client, Airport Operator and Contractors staff.
•Ability to manage relationship to ensure that work progresses as quickly as possible without compromising quality or commercial requirements.
•Ability to work with others and lead a small team.
•Background may have been with an airport operator, design consultancy, project management consultancy or possibly architect
Qualifications:
•15 years of experience
•A relevant degree or professional qualification will be as significant advantage. However, these are not essential if experience beyond the minimum qualifies the individual for the role.
•With extensive experience gained specifically within an airports environment, candidates with a background in the management of General Civil Engineering infrastructure design projects at airport.
•Background may have been with an airport operator, design consultancy, project management consultancy or possibly architect.
