Reporting to the Project Director UK & the Resident Project Manager - Site, we are seeking a Resident Cables Engineer to supervise as Owners Engineer representative for the site activities of the EHV Cables contractor.
You will work with the Contractors site management to supervise the site activities of contractors ensuring installation is according to good International practice and according to the contract specification, as well as monitoring the contract programme to ensure good progress is maintained.
As Resident Cables Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring contractor complies with good Health and Safety practices on the site, chairing weekly site meetings and producing minutes, providing site reports to the Resident Project Manager Site and home office and monitoring arrival on site of contract equipment and materials as well as signing off reports of work completion for payment purposes and liaising with clients engineers and staff as required.
To succeed as Resident Cables Engineer you should have extensive experience in a site supervision position involving transmission lines with experience of 220kV cable installation. A degree level or HND qualification is preferred, although experience in lieu will also be considered. It is essential you have the ability to manage contractors on site activities in an Owners Engineer position.
