Reliability & Maintainability Engineer is required by this leading Defence organisation.
In this role the R&M Engineer will need a firm understanding, backed by work experience in the following:
The application of Supportability Engineering and its aims in reducing the cost of ownership in a military environment. The principles of ILS and the use of tailoring to fit the requirements of a specific project. Working with the customer to identify equipment failure information. Providing feedback to highlight and resolve reliability issues, including the generation of appropriate reliability reports. Experience with trials and/or failure reporting systems (FRACAS).
Educated to BTEC (including HND/HNC) in Electro/Mechanical experience or knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
The function and operation of the LCM process in relation to support activities. Defence Acquisition and In-Service Support. A working knowledge of military organisations (particularly the British Army) and their operating procedures. 4-5 years thorough understanding of statistical analysis desirable; 4-5 years experience high degree of computer literacy with good knowledge of spreadsheets/ databases; 4-5 years understanding of the ILS process and the place of Reliability analysis within in; 4-5 years experience performing FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RCM, Safety Analysis and Testability Analysis desirable.
The candidate will have a background in one or more of the following:
Military vehicles.
REME or RLC operations.
Working in a Support environment.
Defence industry engineering.
IT: Competent in the operation of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project - ideally with experience of Microsoft, Access and Visio.

The R&M Engineer should be well presented, self-motivated, innovative with a desire for continuous self-improvement. It is essential that they are able to work unsupervised, within a team or independently. Able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, possess a sense of humour and be able to communicate at all levels. Whilst representing the company within a Joint Team they should be able to demonstrate commercial and cultural awareness and respect customer-supplier confidentiality at all times.
The position will be predominantly based in Avon and is commutable from Bristol, Stroud, Chippenham and Chepstow but depending on programme requirements the candidate may be expected to travel within the UK. For this reason a valid driving licence is essential.
