Regional Director of Contaminated Land and Water

Our Client is a multi-disciplinary Design Consultancy servicing the civil and structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, environmental services, town planning, quantity surveying and project management sectors. Our client now employs more than 600 staff in Ireland across 9 different offices.

As a result of this continued success our Client is now seeking to recruit and a Regional Director for their Contaminated Land and Water Division in their Belfast offices.

Working closely with an existing of specialist in North of Ireland, the successful applicant will play a key role in developing the business stream in the North of Ireland.

You will be responsible for managing and undertaking a wide variety of projects, maintaining and developing a diverse client base in the region and more widely across the North of Ireland and assisting in the management and development of well-established teams.


The successful candidate will be a leading technical expert in the filed of contaminated land and groundwater. You should have exceptional personal skills in team leadership, time management and verbal communication, client liaison and care; a track record in developing and winning new consultancy work, and its commercial delivery. Experience in managing brown field regeneration schemes and regulatory consultation is a requirement.


You should also have good background knowledge of undertaking Quantitative Risk Assessments and the financial management of projects. Good written and IT skills are prerequisite for this position.

At a minimum a good first Degree and membership of appropriate professional bodies is required coupled with a minimum of 10 years experience within the Contaminated or Water division, 5 years of which should be at a management or senior management level.


You should have a proven track record and should have extensive senior management experience in a high profile environmental consultancy or a similar role with a major organisation, involved in major brownfield and groundwater projects, and a highly successful track record in commercial delivery and development, team building and leadership, client care and project delivery.
