A Risk Manager is needed for working in our clients Model Development Team. The job is based in Central London and you require to have valid work permit to work in the UK with Excellent communication skills. Attractive salary with Benefits.
The main responsibilities of this position include:
* Manage the build of new compliant ratings (PD, LGD and CCF) tools for both Retail and Wholesale customers to improve regulatory coverage and improved business information. This involves:
* Agree timelines for delivery, prepare build methodology in line with Group standards and manage expectations of management
* Define clear data specifications for each specific portfolio and supervise the model build team in the data collection exercise
* Manage the transfer of data to a development database, clean and prepare data for analysis by coordinating with the business to ensure assumptions in cleaning process are reflective or true business practices.
* Lead the analysis to identify optimal statistical model, this could be using a software package or through own development.
* Prepare presentation and formal documentation of the model build to achieve approval of a working prototype ready for delivery to the systems deployment team.
* Document any further recommendations for data storage for future model build
* Lead the creation of an appropriate system/software architecture to streamline the processes/applications that are used within the Model development team, to ensure activities can be performed in an efficient and auditable manner.
* Contribute towards constructive and effective working relationships with other relevant departments and business units.

* A robust understanding of statistical techniques (Logistic regression, correlation analysis, etc.) and 5-10 years experience in using them within a financial industry context. Would expect candidate to have a degree that includes a mathematical discipline.
* Working knowledge of Excel, Access (or any other database) and SPSS and experience of developing a database architecture.
* Working knowledge of programming languages, SQL and Visual Basic.
* Experience in project management and team management.
* Capable of using own initiative, considering business issues and developing appropriate solutions using knowledge of the internal organisation.
* Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an ability for accurate and rapid throughput of work and to manage senior management expectations in the delivery of new model prototypes.
* Team player actively seeking to be respectful, open, constructive and fair to others, working co-operatively and building relationships within the team and organisation to create a pioneering, engaging and dependable business.
* Willing to operate on a flexible basis with demanding delivery timeframes.
