RF Engineer required to work within the Soldier Systems team where you will be responsible for the RF design of man-portable tranceivers in the UHF/microwave bands, from design concept through into volume Production. The work will include the following aspects: RF simulation/modelling, detailed circuit design, the selection/specification of components, the provision of detailed RF layout guidance to pcb layout designer, formal design verification, the preparation of technical specifications and literature, possible field trials support.
It would also be advantageous to have a detailed knowledge of a number of the following associated disciplines:- synthesiser design; RF filter design; Tx/Rx architecture; frequency planning; knowledge of best design practice for EMC; knowledge of the implications of volume Production methods. He/she will be part of a small design team working on all aspects of transceiver design, and will report to an Engineering Manager who will oversee the running of each Project.

Skills & Experience
Proven experience in an RF Engineering role.
Qualifications, Education
Degree or equivalent.
Key Competencies
Strong analytical and fault finding skills. Attention to detail whilst aware of project timescales. Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Manages own time well, organised, ability to challenge the design with the engineers.
