R&T Project Leader
The vacancy is for an engineer to lead and actively participate in a number of avionics related research and development projects.
R&T Project Leader
The vacancy is for an engineer to lead and actively participate in a number of avionics related research and development projects.
The projects in which the successful candidate will technically participate will depend on their experience and knowledge but may include one or more of the following areas: avionics signal interfacing, avionics architecture definition, electrical power load control, digital databus and wireless technologies.
The candidate will be expected to work with counterparts working with fuel and landing gear systems, in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, working on cockpit and cabin related systems.
The candidate will need to be a strong communicator, capable of preparing and presenting both detailed technical and project proposal and management type presentations.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should possess the following skills
An appreciation of Aircraft systems and aircraft and various interface types
Knowledge of electronics used in Avionics
Systems Engineering process
Detailed knowledge of at least one part of a system development life cycle, preferably V & V
Project management
The candidate should also have the following skills and knowledge
An understanding of distributed avionics architectures
Experience of systems tools such as Matlab, Simulink, SCADE, UML tools, although not essential would be useful for future activities.
End user experience and manager experience of requirements engineering tools and configuration management tools is desirable
An advanced user of MS Office tools in order to communicate effectively
The candidate should typically have:
A degree in Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or a related subject.
Experience in the aerospace industry related to civil avionics.
Working knowledge of French and / or German will be an advantage.
The candidate will be expected to travel on a regular basis within Europe.
