Quantity surveyor required to work on projects within the London & South East area. The position is available immediately to work for a main contractor within the retail refurbishment sector of the construction industry. The position is predominately office based in the head office in Surrey.
Salary / Wage is negotiable.
Role Description
The Quantity Surveyor we be working on various retail projects. The position is on a contract basis to begin with the opportunity to go permanent with the client if all goes well. The Quantity Surveyor must have a good technical and business knowledge & understand the building work in hand and make sure work is done in a commercially viable way. A logical mind with a down-to-earth approach to problem solving and a personality which is at ease with business executives, site employees ... and spreadsheets is an advantage. Approve payments made to suppliers, employees and subcontractors, prepare bills of quantity for work in progress and the final accounts.
Required Experience
The quantity surveyor must have some experience in quantity surveying but this does not have to be in retail refurbishment.
