Key Tasks/Job Description:
To co-ordinate Quality Assurance in the Engineering Function;
- To ensure that quality standards are applied and maintained in a consistent and economical manner through the development of the Quality Planning process.
- To act as the functional interface for all quality matters.
- To co-ordinate specific Customer Complaints ensuring satisfactory and timely response.
- To be conversant with the Quality Management System, specifically the processes and documentation contained therein associated with your particular function.
- To deploy the annual BAE Systems Submarines audit programme ensuring timely and accurate closure of non-conformances.
- Develop and deploy a Quality Concern Investigate process across BAE Systems Submarines and through the application of 'Root Cause Analysis' techniques provide recommendations for improvement.
Provide appropriate training & mentoring to QA personnel in order for them to undertake their defined duties.
Person specification:
The person should be enthusiastic in the need for change and be able to develop and implement new ways of working that support the business objectives.
A good communicator who can influence at all level's both internally and externally.
Flexible and pragmatic approach to customer requirements and the needs of individuals.
Qualifications:
deally degree qualified or equivalent.
Qualified to Lead Auditor would be advantageous but not essential.
Experience:
Previous experience within an appropriate quality discipline desirable.
Experienced in leading small teams.
Familiar with the implementation of lean principles in an Engineering function.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO9000 principles.
CQI member.
