Description
My Client a world leading project based Engineering company are seeking a Quality Engineer to support the engineering department in defining the quality requirements for designs and to ensure that these requirements are understood and satisfied by the various equipment suppliers.

Role
•To support the engineering department in defining the quality requirements for designs and to ensure that these requirements are understood and satisfied by the various equipment suppliers.
•Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Tasks
Projects
•Review client standards at the pre-project stage and highlight any specific requirements which differ from our normal Quality requirements.
•Responsible for the production of quality documentation associated with the manufacture and testing of the designed equipment.
•Assist the Project and Design Engineers with respect to manufacturing methods and limitations and the implications of these limitations on design.
•Assist the Project and Design Engineers with the selection of suitable materials for the equipment being designed.
•Liaise with the Procurement and Logistics Department to ensure that the quality requirements are understood and the planned inspections and tests can be carried out.
•Assist the Project Engineers in answering queries raised during the manufacturing process.
Departmental
•To ensure adherence with company policies and procedures.
•To advise the Engineering Manager of any problems associated with quality requirements implementation.
Education / Knowledge
The following are desirable requirements for the position;
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related engineering discipline.
Experience
•Commercially aware and deadline/target orientated.
•A good understanding of material properties/standards and the processes used in the manufacture of heavy machinery.
•A good understanding of quality assurance procedures.
•Broad based awareness of all engineering disciplines.
•Computer Literate with experience of and ability to use the Company IT tools (Microsoft Office, Project and Outlook etc).
