Objective
To analyse processes to resolve repetitive and/or complex issues mainly raised from AM Manufacturing areas, but not exclusively, using proven statistical problem solving methods and techniques.
The successful candidate will report to the C & C Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring and resolving registered issues and planning within specific vehicle / commodity and business unit areas
Leading the development and implementation of a quality driven SPC process and agreed operating
practices by working with other teams / interfacing organisations such as manufacturing operations and plant vehicle teams.
Work with Manufacturing, Plant quality and PVT teams to develop effective methods of identifying containments in a timely manner.
To overview specific quality concerns raised by other departments to detect trends or multiple failures and where required to monitor or initiate liaison meetings.
Lead cross functional working teams in problem identification and resolution through accurate
interpretation of data and rigorous use of Six Sigma quality tools.
Report status to LL6 management and General Managers to leverage other departments resource.
Lead the application of Quality tools
by program teams with emphasis on Six Sigma.
Report quality status at Plant quality reviews as required.
Drive systematic problem solving and root cause analysis & fix verification. Own the resolution of issues within specific vehicle areas. This typically may involve talking to suppliers to correct defective parts initiating engineering change recommending improved process methods etc.)
Initiate inspection of suspect components during the course of investigations to confirm conformance to specification. Analyse subsequent inspection data to identify issues relevant to specific exercise.
Qualifications/Experience
Technical education to degree level or equivalent.
Masters degree in an Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality discipline is an advantage.
High degree of innumeracy and knowledge of statistical problem solving techniques is essential
Knowledge and experience of IDEAS CAD systems and tools an advantage
Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices statistical techniques.
Understanding the requirements of ISO 9001 and QS9000 Quality Systems element.
