Description
Our Client is a subsidiary of a large US based group. Products are complex high precision cast/machined airfoils fitted to gas turbines and used in power generation and aircraft propulsion. They have the requirement for a Quality Engineer to work in their Industrial Gas Turbine section, on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

They have the requirement for a Quality Engineer to work in their Industrial Gas Turbine section, on a 12 month fixed-term contract.
Reporting directly to the Quality Engineering Team Leader, you will be responsible for Quality issues including Operations Support, Customer liaison, including performance scorecard management, Quality improvement initiatives, Control and compilation of First Article Inspection Reports and Cost Reduction Activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Support, Project support
Customer liaison, including performance scorecard management
Quality improvement initiatives, Cost reduction activities
Control and compilation of First Article Inspection Reports
Customer Concession Preparing, and progressing concession documentation
Ensuring ongoing conformance to Customer Specification
Trend Analysis
Corrective Action Reporting both internally and with the customer
Continuous Improvement Activities
Support new project introduction by providing historical quality performance data and improvement suggestions for the NPI team
Participate in FMEA and DFM activities
Review and improve internal Quality Procedures
Key Performance Measures:
Disposition of non conforming parts within 24 hours
World class quality performance(exceeding customer scorecard expectation)
Scrap levels<1.5% of sales
Zero major non conformances on internal or external audits
Skills Requirement
The incumbent must be educated to HNC level or higher. A preference will be given to individuals with experience of working in the Industrial Gas turbine sector and those with a recognized Quality certification (Six Sigma, IQA,.).
A reasonable level of computer literacy, and an ability to summarise SAP data into meaningful actions are also a requirement.
Good organisational and inter-personal skills are required to effectively perform the role.
Project work will require the individual to work alone or in a team environment in a structured and supportive manner.
