Excellent opportunity for an experienced quality engineer to work for an established company (part of a major group) who are concerned with subcontract electrical, electronic and some mechanical manufacturing.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for improving product quality through the use of recognised Quality tools and mutual rapport with internal and external customers, and subcontractors to ensure right first time and on time deliveries whilst meeting the objectives of the business.

Duties to include:

1. Assist in-house personnel to define and implement processes, which achieve defect free products.

2. Advise and agree with customers acceptable in-house quality requirements and standards and recommend any necessary training that may be required.

3. Monitor Account Teams KPI's including: customer satisfaction, quality, cost & delivery.

4. Advise on vendor control, identify with supplier's continuous improvement procedures and activities. Carry out vendor assessments, audits and visits as directed.

5. Assist purchasing to drive down material costs and resolve non-conforming material problems and identify for deposition.

6. When required, liaise with suppliers regarding rejects and follow up corrective & preventative actions.

7. Carry out internal vertical and product audits to verify product compliance, contractual requirements and traceability this may include product investigations as directed.

8. Support Account Teams with component queries, alternatives where applicable.

9. Write Quality plans, statements and control plans when customer and contract require them.

10. Liaise with Production & Quality Technicians to ensure 8D or customer corrective action reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner to our customers, using Root Cause and Corrective Action tools.

11. Support the Account Team and the Business Manager during customer visits.

12. Mentor and advise other members of the Account Teams in processes and procedures.

13. Maintain, update, produce and streamline specified quality related process maps or specifications.

14. Attend contract and manufacturing start up meetings and advice on risk areas by use of FMEA & Process FMEA.

15. By use of standard Lean/Six Sigma tools, carry out process improvement tasks to help improve efficiency.

16. Other related Quality tasks as specified by the Quality Manager
