Northampton based automotive supplier is looking for a Quality Engineer.
Main Purpose of Position: To control the quality through the use of practical measurement and quality systems. To promote, and advise on, Quality Policy & QMS Manual. Ensure personnel understand the implications of AS9100 and any other relevant approval process.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. To deliver the quality engineering objectives set by the quality management.
2. To provide regular feedback and reports as necessary to keep management fully informed of progress.
3. Maintain quality engineering standards.
4. To contribute towards manager's responsibilities with respect to the compliance of Company policies, for example Health and Safety.
5. To provide manufacturing with reliable and up to date CMM programs, on time.
6. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will be expected to:
- Fulfil any other reasonable requirements consistent with departmental objectives.
- Take ownership and maintain relevant KPIs and demonstrate progress.
- Exploit and where possible create opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain effective communication, both formal of all relevant issues.
- Have a fundamental understanding of the BU management philosophy, aims & objectives.
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:
Essential:
1. Technical specialist.
2. Skilled in one or more of the core engineering disciplines.
3. Able to exercise technical judgement, using sound engineering principles and appropriate experience.
4. Effective in planning, management and implementation of Quality engineering activities.
5. Familiar and skilled in the use of Quality systems and procedures, AS9100 and and any other relevant approval processes.
6. Understand and take account of technical, commercial and competitive factors that characterise our business.
7. Able to select and deliver technical and company information for effective internal and external communication.
8. Personal and professional integrity and responsible attitude to the requirements of manufacturing and Quality engineering in the environment.
9. Able to interact with others to operate effectively within team activities
10. Basic knowledge of Microsoft office .
Desirable:
Working knowledge of Microsoft office, CAD systems & CMM programming.
Working knowledge of SAP.
