Quality Engineer - Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer (CEMS), the Quality Engineer will be responsible for improving product quality through the use of recognised Quality tools and mutual rapport with internal and external customers, and subcontractors to ensure right first time and on time deliveries whilst meeting the objectives of the business.
Duties to include:
Assist in house personnel to define and implement processes, which achieve defect free products; Advise and agree with customers acceptable in house quality requirements and standards and recommend any necessary training that may be required; Monitor Account Teams KPIs including: customer satisfaction, quality, cost & delivery; Advise on vendor control, identify with supplier's continuous improvement procedures and activities. Carry out vendor assessments, audits and visits as directed; Assist purchasing to drive down material costs and resolve non-conforming material problems and identify for deposition; When required liaise with suppliers regarding rejects and follow up corrective & preventative actions; Carry out internal vertical and product audits to verify product compliance, contractual requirements and traceability this may include product investigations as directed; Support Account Teams with component queries, alternatives where applicable; Write Quality plans, statements and control plans when customer & contract require them; Liaise with Production & Quality Technicians to ensure 8D or customer corrective action reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner to our customers, using Root Cause and Corrective Action tools; Support the Account Team and the CEMS Business Manager during customer visits; Mentor and advise other members of the Account Teams in processes and procedures; Maintain, update, produce and streamline specified quality related process maps or specifications;

Skills and Experience
Relevant experience as a Quality Engineer (or similar) within a manufacturing and aerospace environment (electronics preferred). Qualified to minimum HNC, or equivalent, in an engineering or manufacturing related subject. Good understanding and experience of using Quality tools such as, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing (5s, 7 wastes, value stream mapping), would be a distinct advantage. Good auditing skills and proven track record in understanding Quality standards, including the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 are essential. Knowledge of AS9100 is preferred. Knowledge of EFQM model and Supply Chain Development (SC21) would be desirable. Ability to work alone to meet customer requirements both internally and
externally. Be influential and able to drive change throughout the organisation at all levels. Good communication skills and computer literacy. Methodical and detailed approach.
