Description
Our client is a world leader in the design and supply of sensor support systems and instrumentation for commercial and military applications. Products enable accurate spacial information capture and stable images of objects they can see around them. They have the opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector to join their team, working in the machine shop / piece part store. Candidates must have experience with CMM systems, plus knowledge of Tooling / Toolmaking practices.

They have the opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector to join their team, working in the machine shop / piece part store. Candidates must have experience with CMM systems, plus knowledge of Tooling / Toolmaking practices. Must be able to read complex engineering drawings. Early shift, 0600 1400 Monday to Friday.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•To carry out routine inspection on all electrical, electronic, optical and mechanical parts in accordance with specifications and to IPL agreed standards. This may be within Goods Inwards, Piece Part, Sub Assembly, Final Inspection or on a patrol basis.
•to ensure that correct labels are applied to any defective goods and that these are kept in suitably demarcated quarantine areas
•to ensure that any faults found are recorded as per procedure and investigated with a report issued to the Quality Control Team Leader
•to carry out environmental tests on equipment on and off site
•to complete time cards and any other documentation required by the companys administrative system accurately and on time
•to calibrate equipment and maintain records
Required Knowledge and Skills:
•attention to detail
• hands on experience of inspection and test procedures in an engineering environment. This should include use of measuring equipment such as a co-ordinate measuring machine, vernier, micrometers.
•good knowledge of electro-mechanical equipment in both theory and operation
•ability to read engineering drawings
•ability to work with minimal supervision
Desirable Skills and Abilities:
•Experience working in a machining shop
•Good communication skills with people at all levels
•Some overtime may be involved on occasion so flexibility is important.
•Knowledge and use of optical measuring equipment
