Description

An Immediate opportunity has arisen with our client who is synonymous with engineering excellence. There experience has been gained through refurbishing, maintaining, modifying and providing emergency support for the UKs major power and industrial plants. There modern technology ensures they provide the correct engineering solutions which are right first time.

To enable our client to be at the forefront of their business we require 2 Quality Assurance Engineers.
One position will be responsible for the ownership and advancement of our QA procedures, continuous improvement ethos and implementing change with an emphasis on value added within the workshops.
One position will be for the ownership and advancement of our site projects QA procedures with an emphasis on review and introducing robust systems, facilitating our off site projects and ensuring our customers expectations are met.

The roles will require close relationships with all departmental personnel and external customers

The QA engineer will report to the Senior Quality Engineer.

The role will be challenging and varied, requiring business travel as and when necessary and possibly involve some periods of time away from home.

Primary Accountabilities: -

•Ensure compliance with our ISO9001-2000 Certification, through the review of our systems; introduce the necessary changes.
•Carry out Departmental audits and instigate necessary change if required.
•Support continual improvement, and innovation initiatives.
•To ensure that hold, check and inspection points, called up within Quality control plans and Work information packs, are observed and met, and that the required inputs are achieved prior to the next activity taking place.
•To support, when requested, Team Leaders and/ or Craftsmen with inspection techniques
•To assist and or lead Root Cause Analysis investigations, using modern methods.
•To liaise with customers at the highest level.
•To assist the responsible Engineer, that on completion of works all relevant documentation to the activity is complete and has achieved the required TSG QA standards.
•Generate key performance indicators and introduce quality and efficiency measures
•Support the preparation and implementation of our site projects and outage works, which will include development of technical specifications, Quality Control Plans ensuring the integrity, safety and efficient operation of our portfolio.
•Instigate risk reviews prior to project commencement.
•Willing to lead training initiatives and tutor.
•Support to outage strategy development, with primary focus on Quality systems.
•Assist with cost reduction programmes.



Key Competencies: -

Competent in:

Mechanical Engineering Principles.
ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14001-2004 standards
Modern Quality Concepts.
Strong Communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide cross section of people.

Knowledge and skills:

Educated to HNC or an equivalent technical qualification.
Very pro-active self starter.
Experience in power plant environments.
Must be computer literate in excel, word, MS Project,
