Our client requires a QA Engineer to work at Hunterston nuclear power station, based in West Kilbride.
This contract is to start ASAP. It is likely that good QA Engineers will be retained and taken onto other shutdowns the contract could last until the end of October 08.
Purpose of role:
The QA Engineer will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the site specific Quality management processes in accordance with HSEQ Management System and customer specific HSEQ requirements
QA Engineer key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:
- Agree the Quality Plan with customer.
- Set up the Quality Management system in line with the agreed quality plan.
- Review and agree Sub-Contractor quality systems.
- Prepare work packages in accordance with Weir and customer HSEQ procedures.
- Issue work packages to appropriate Service Engineers in line with the agreed programme of works.
- Carry out Quality task surveillances to ensure procedural compliance.
- Inform the responsible Site Manager / Supervisor / Customer where quality issues are found and assist in determining the corrective action
- Participate in any customer, third party quality audits.
- Review all work packages to ensure satisfactory completion.
- Ensure all quality issues are satisfactorily addressed & closed out.
- Where required, assist in the route cause analysis process and assist in the implementation of corrective actions e.g. Tool Box Talk / training
- Ensure all quality documents are distributed and stored, as appropriate.
As a minimum QA Engineers must possess a certificate confirming Appreciation & Interpretation of ISO 9001
We also require candidates to have an ECITB - Safety Passport and hold current Nuclear Clearance
Hours of work will be 60 hours per week leading up to the shutdown, then the hours will be 70 per week.
Candidates will have 1 day off in 14
Rates: £25/hr LTD - £31/hr LTD for all hours worked
